Operate Alexa-enabled smart home appliances from Fire tablet "Device Dashboard"
On October 28th, Amazon launched a "device dashboard" that lets you control Alexa-enabled smart home products on your Fire tablet. You can operate compatible smart home appliances by touching the screen without calling Alexa by voice.
Device Dashboard allows you to easily control smart products such as lights, cameras, thermostats, plugs and switches that have been configured with the Alexa app from your Fire tablet screen.
Fire tablets now have a new "smart home" icon to the left of their navigation bar that lets you access the device dashboard with a simple tap. You can access this icon from any screen, allowing you to control smart home appliances without unlocking the lock screen or closing the app.
Fire tablets that can use this function are Fire 7 (9th generation), Fire HD 8 (8th generation), Fire HD 8 (10th generation), Fire HD 8 Plus (10th generation), Fire HD 10 ( 9th generation).
