Google has announced a new feature for Family Link that allows you to cancel the usage time for individual apps. It will be available in the coming weeks.
Family Link, a parental control function available on Android and Chromebook, was mainly aimed at ensuring that children study, have enough sleep, and have time to play outside. For this reason, functions have been introduced to prevent overuse of the device, such as limiting the total usage time of the device and locking the device after bedtime.
However, due to the global pandemic, online home study is increasing, so if you limit the usage time uniformly, there will be a situation where you can not study even if you want to. Therefore, by individually setting learning apps etc. as "always allowed", you can use them without counting them as usage time.
This feature was the most requested by parents. According to Google, parents want to know how their kids are using their devices, and they don't really care how much they use them.
