Reality of "cloud-based wireless LAN service" that reduces introduction cost and reduces management effort
This time, I would like to introduce a cloud-based wireless LAN service, which is a technology that facilitates the construction of wireless LANs for companies.
If you use a cloud-based wireless LAN service, you can use a wireless LAN controller (WLC) implemented in the cloud service by the service provider. Therefore, the user can reduce the trouble of procurement and initial setting. Many services also provide an authentication mechanism, which is particularly burdensome when introducing corporate wireless LAN.

When introducing an on-premises WLC, some appliance products cost close to 10 million yen. The cloud type does not need to purchase a WLC, so the initial cost can be kept low. In that respect, it can be said that it is easy to introduce. On the other hand, maintenance costs such as monthly license fees are high.
Many cloud-based wireless LAN services are equipped not only with WLC functions that change network settings, but also with functions that streamline management. For example, monitoring network equipment, including wireless LAN access points (APs), does not require building a dedicated monitoring server unlike on-premises.
The inventory management function, which enables a list of setting values and specific information of network devices, also contributes to reducing the operational load. There is also a function to visualize the usage status as a heat map.
