1. Narrow down the search target
One of the most effective ways to narrow down the search object is to enclose the search word in a half -width quotation (""). From the lyrics of the song to the title of the movie, enclosing the keywords in a quotation mark will accurately convey what you are looking for to Google, so you can exclude unnecessary results from the result page. This is a particularly effective way if the combination of keywords to search is not very common. Also, by attaching a half-width negative symbol (-) just before the keyword, the result containing the word can be excluded. This is a really effective way to remove certain related keywords or news articles. Conversely, by adding a half -width plus symbol (+) just before, the keyword is always included. In general, the more keywords used for search, the better. You may think that Google will understand what you are looking for if you put one or two keywords, but you will be surprised if you know how much the results will be improved by clarifying your intentions. These narrowing are really useful when many results are not very relevant to what you want to find.
2. Search on a specific site
There are many cases where Google search wants to find the entire Internet and get results, but it may not be the case. If you want to find a specific site or if you have a site that you trust than any other site, enter "Site:" after the keyword you are looking for, and enter the main URL of that site. This displays only the results of the specific domain. This feature is useful, for example, if you want to find the result in Wikipedia. When a normal search is performed, it is highly likely that sponsor sites, optimized sites, and prejudice sites will be displayed before Wikipedia. In such a case, if you add "sit: wikipedia.org" to the search window, you will get the result of narrowing only to Wikipedia. Moreover, for search and page ranks, you can continue to use Google's excellent abilities. This method can be used for any website. For example, it is also useful if you want to focus on a specific news site you trust, or if you want to know the results from the official website.
