Apple launches MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max.Professional, long battery, Liquid Retina XDR display
Apple will launch the MacBook Pro with the new M1 Pro and M1 Max, the first chip designed for the Mac, on October 26, 2021 at select Apple Stores and Apple product retailers. .. The 14-inch MacBook Pro model starts at JPY 239,800 and the 16-inch MacBook Pro model starts at JPY 299,800.
The MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max is the first professional system to use a system-on-chip (SoC) architecture.
M1 Pro is equipped with a powerful CPU with up to 10 cores consisting of 8 high-performance cores and 2 high-efficiency cores, and a GPU with up to 16 cores. It is capable of achieving CPU performance that is up to 70 percent faster than the M1 and GPU performance that is up to twice as fast.
It also achieves a memory bandwidth of up to 200GB / s, which is nearly three times the bandwidth of the M1, and supports high-speed unified memory of up to 32GB. Designed with professional video workflows in mind, the M1 Pro adds a ProRes accelerator to the media engine for fast, power-efficient video processing.
The M1 Max is equipped with the same powerful 10-core CPU as the M1 Pro, and the GPU is doubled to 32 cores, achieving GPU performance up to 4 times faster than the M1. It also has a memory bandwidth of up to 400GB / s, which is twice that of the M1 Pro and almost six times that of the M1, and a high-speed unified memory of up to 64GB.
The M1 Max also features a media engine that has been enhanced with the introduction of two ProRes accelerators for more advanced multi-stream performance.
As a result, you can edit up to 30 4K ProRes video streams or up to 7 8K ProRes video streams in Final Cut Pro. It says it can edit more streams than a 28-core Mac Pro with Afterburner. And for the first time in Mac history, video editors can colorgrade 8K ProRes 4444 video in HDR, even when they're far away from the editorial desk.
Main features and specifications of each model
14 inch MacBook Pro>
Realized on a 14-inch MacBook Pro with a 10-core CPU, the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
Equipped with M1 Pro with 16-core GPU and M1 Max with 32-core GPU, 14-inch MacBook Pro enhances the workflow that makes full use of graphics.
Both M1 Pro and M1 Max are equipped with a 16-core Neural Engine to perform high-speed machine learning (ML) tasks at high speed.
16 inch MacBook Pro
Realized on a 16-inch MacBook Pro with a 10-core CPU, the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro with the 16-core GPU M1 Pro and the 32-core GPU M1 Max delivers faster graphics performance.
Both M1 Pro and M1 Max are equipped with a 16-core Neural Engine to perform high-speed machine learning (ML) tasks at high speed.
Battery life
The 14-inch model can play up to 17 hours, and the 16-inch model can play up to 21 hours. When working with Xcode, you can compile up to four times more code, and when editing images with Adobe Lightroom Classic, you get up to twice as long battery life.
It is also designed so that it does not degrade performance without being connected to a power source.
display
The 16-inch model has a 16.2-inch display with the highest 7.7 million pixels in Mac notebook history, and the 14-inch model has a 14.2-inch effective screen area and a total of 5.9 million pixels.
For the first time on a MacBook Pro, it has a Liquid Retina XDR display. With a full-screen sustained brightness of up to 1,000 nits, a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000 to 1, Extreme Dynamic Range is said to express HDR content clearly and clearly. It also supports a wide color gamut of P3 and 1 billion colors. ProMotion technology supports adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz.
ProMotion automatically changes the refresh rate as the displayed content moves to maintain battery life. Video editors can also fix the optimal refresh rate for the video they are working on. The display has a thinner outer frame and extends around the camera, allowing content to be displayed in a wider area.
Port / connectivity
Both 14-inch and 16-inch models feature three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SDXC card slot for media access, an HDMI port for convenient connection to displays and TVs, and an advanced headphone jack for high-impedance headphones. The redesigned MagSafe 3 also protects the MacBook Pro while allowing you to connect the charging cable quickly and easily.
In addition, it is the first Mac to use fast charging, which can charge up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. Models with M1 Pro can connect up to two Pro Display XDRs, and models with M1 Max can connect up to three Pro Display XDRs and one 4K TV all at the same time. For wireless connectivity, the MacBook Pro also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
