Android TV-equipped display, Donki released "I dared to remove the TV tuner"
Don Quijote announced on December 6th that it will sell the Android TV-equipped display "tunerless smart TV with Android TV function" at affiliated stores nationwide from December 10th. The price is 21,780 yen for the 24-inch model and 32,780 yen (tax included) for the 42-inch model.
Both resolutions are full HD with 1920 x 1080 pixels. Equipped with wireless LAN (2.4 GHz band), wired LAN, 3 HDMI terminals, etc., it can be used for a wide range of purposes such as online video, games and PC monitors.
The OS is Android 9 Pie. Equipped with Taiwan's MediaTek quad-core CPU "MSD6683", 1GB memory, and 8GB storage (eMMC), which is used for smart TVs.
Don Quijote points out that "the number of people who watch videos on a daily basis has increased due to the enhancement of video distribution services such as YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video." He explains that he made a smart TV that specializes in watching videos and that he dared to remove the TV tuner.
