I tried using a precision tool set with convenient tools useful for gadget maintenance etc.
This is a separate article edited and written by the commerce team of MediaGene Inc., to which Gizmodo Japan belongs.
In Europe and the United States, the right to repair is recognized, and finally Apple has begun to implement a self-repair program in some regions.
In Japan, I don't know how it will go with laws and regulations, but from the perspective of a sustainable society, it may be an era where you can maintain and repair gadgets yourself.
This time, I will report on using the tool set "JIMISET 26", which is useful for such gadget maintenance and electronic work.
Currently, our sister site machi-ya is having a great deal, so please check it out.
Looks like a nostalgic gimmick pencil case
Here is the JIMISET 26 driver.
The aluminum alloy body gives a sense of durability, and the matte luster gives it a professional look.
In addition to standard plus and minus sizes, there are a total of 18 types of special bits such as hex and torx screws.
It was an impression that it was enough for maintenance of gadgets, PCs, glasses, etc.
The gimmick that pops out the bit storage section with the button is also nice to make it easier to take out. For me, it was a fun point that reminded me of my elementary school pencil case.
The case itself is also equipped with magnets, so screwdrivers and bits will not fall off easily.
It's also nice that you don't have to worry about losing it even if you handle it roughly.
Detailed functions help
The driver is not bad to use.
The main body is not too thin, so you can hold it firmly.
In familiar situations, maintenance of game controllers and glasses, battery replacement, etc. will be the main activities.
I don't think there are many scenes to disassemble notebook PCs these days because the board is integrated and parts cannot be replaced at all, but if you are a desktop user, you can use it to replace parts.
Personally, what I found interesting and helpful was the ability to add magnetism to the tip of the bit.
The screws on gadgets are small, and they are often lost or slipped into the back of the board before they can be inserted into the screw holes, right?
Since it is a function that can reduce such troubles, I think that it is a function that seems to be useful though it is plain.
There was also a temporary storage space for screws right next to it.
I appreciate the thoughtfulness when handling precision equipment, such as the lid being securely closed.
Useful mini tools
In addition to the driver, many useful tools are included.
First of all, tweezers with very thin tips. It seems to be useful for light work such as plastic models and handicrafts that handle fine parts.
Other SIM card pins,
There was also a mini spatula that was useful for peeling off the film and separating the housing.
It is important not to throw things away in repairs and use them for a long time, so I would like to do maintenance safely with the right tools as much as possible.
In addition, self-repairing gadgets and smartphones has the disadvantage of spreading failures and expiring warranties, so please be sure to do so at your own risk.
The precision tool set "JIMISET 26", which is useful for disassembling and repairing gadgets and light work, is currently running a great campaign on the crowdfunding site machi-ya.
At the time of writing, it was possible to order from 4,080 yen (including tax and shipping), which is 18% off the general selling price.
There are some features that I couldn't introduce, so if you're interested, check out the details from the link below!
